HC Deb 14 March 1904 vol 131 c961
MR. SLOAN

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if the Inspector-General of the Royal Irish Constabulary sent a letter to the Editor of the Constabulary Gazette asking him not to publish the evidence given at a recent Court of inquiry, held in county Mayo, where Constable Anderson was charged with offences against discipline; and will he say under what circumstances was the publication withheld.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The reply to the first inquiry is in the affirmative. The editor expressed his appreciation of the Inspector-General's suggestion, and declared his intention not to publish the remainder of the evidence.
