§ MR. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)To ask the Secretary for Scotland if the Scotch Education Department has granted a special modern group leaving certificate for Glasgow High School for Girls; and whether this group will under similar conditions be extended to all other schools.

Upon the application of the School Board and upon the basis of a curriculum arranged by conference with the school authorities the Department has agreed to grant a special group leaving certificate for the Glasgow High School for Girls. It is open to any other school to make such an application, and if a satisfactory arrangement can be made as to curriculum, a similar group certificate would be granted.
