I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that, at the † See (4) Debates,, xev., 504. instance of the Ballyshannon Board of Guardians, the Congested Districts Board had made representations to the Local Government Board with reference to the necessity of the import of seed potatoes into the district, having regard to the need of the locality for such import, and that the Local Government Board refused to entertain the application; and, if so, whether any, and, if so, what, steps will be taken by requesting the Local Government Board to reconsider their decision, or otherwise to secure for this district the import of seed potatoes which is essential to the sustenance of its inhabitants.
