§ MR. ALFRED DAVIES (Carmarthen Boroughs)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he will state what annual grants have been given by his Department to the various religious denominations respectively during the last five years.
§ MR. PRETYMANThe total amount of the grants referred to has been as follows—Church of England, including Irish Church and Scotch Episcopalian, £12,278 18s. 9d.; Roman Catholic, £13,434 18s. 8d Other religious bodies, including Presbyterian, Wesleyan, Baptist and Congregational, £11,316 3s. 0d. These grants include fixed allowances, capitation allowances, and building contributions.
