HC Deb 09 March 1904 vol 131 c576
*MR. AINSWORTH (Argyll)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, if he will say who is responsible for the collection of the £1,250,000, admitted by Lord Milner to be due to Great Britain I on account of the Imperial Railways of South Africa; whether he will lay upon the Table Lord Milner's statement on the subject; and say in what way the money will be recovered.

MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

Correspondence is still proceeding on this matter, and, until it is completed, I can add nothing to the information which I have already given to the House.
