HC Deb 09 March 1904 vol 131 cc565-6
CAPTAIN NORTON (Newington, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, seeing that pensions are now granted to retired officers, foremen, and assistant foremen of the clerical staff of the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, but withheld from men working in the same establishment on low wages who have served as soldiers or sailors, he will consider the advisability of dealing with the latter in the same manner as other discharged soldiers are dealt with who serve in prisons, parks, post offices, barrack departments, and other Government establishments.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. ARNOLD-FORSTER,) Belfast, W.

I am afraid that the hon. and gallant Member's Question is not understood. Would he be kind enough to specify more particularly the cases which he has in view.
