§ MR. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he is aware that many Members of this House would prefer reverting to the former plan of holding the Morning Sitting on Wednesday instead of on Friday and whether he will give the House an opportunity of expressing an opinion on the subject.
§ THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.I think there probably is still, as there was when the Standing Order was first proposed, some difference of opinion upon the relative convenience of having private Members' or morning sittings on Wednesday or on Friday; but I still believe that the balance of opinion, and the balance of convenience, lies in the direction of retaining the Rule in its present shape.
