MR. HERBERT SAMUEL (Yorkshire, Cleveland)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will state what was the value of the gold produced from the mines either of the Witwatersrand district or of the Transvaal as a whole, and the number of white men and of natives employed on those mines, in the month of May in each of the years 1897, 1898, 1899, 1902, 1903, and 1904.
