HC Deb 28 June 1904 vol 136 cc1404-5
MR. REGINALDLUCAS (Portsmouth)

To ask the hon. Member for Chorley, as representing the Office of Works, whether he can hold out any hope that this year the morning watering of the roads in Hyde Park will be so effected as not to preclude the possibility of their use by bicyclists between the hours of ten and noon.

(Answered by Lord Balcarres.)The First Commissioner regrets that he is unable to hold out any such hope. The experiment of leaving the sides of the roads unwatered has been tried, and has been abandoned on hygienic grounds.
