§ Mr. MURPHY (Kerry, E.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary 700 to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland what is the reason that the Department of Agriculture and Technical Education and the Congested Districts Board cannot come to an arrangement as to the working of technical and agricultural schemes in congested districts; and whether, in view of the injury and loss caused to the people residing in congested districts, he can do anything to bring about a working arrangement in the matter.
§ Mr. WYNDHAMThe Question is based on a misapprehension of the facts. The Department of Agriculture by arrangement with the Congested Districts Board has extended its agricultural schemes to all the congested districts. In respect to technical instruction, the Board is already largely engaged in work of a kind which does not come within the scope of the county schemes. The Board's work in this respect is more in the direction of assisting industries than in that of secondary education, and it preferred to continue to work on these lines.
§ Me. MURPHYConsidering the report has been made by the county council of Kerry in respect to the working of the technical education schools in the congested districts, will the right hon. Gentleman do something to bring about an understanding?
§ * Mr. SPEAKEROrder, ordr! That, is the very same Question.
