HC Deb 13 June 1904 vol 135 c1487
MR. HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that, in the test case brought by British Indians in the Transvaal Supreme Court, the Chief Justice, with the concurrence of his two colleagues, decided that British Indian subjects are entitled to trade in any part of the Transvaal; and whether he will state what steps are being taken to give effect to this decision by the removal of existing restrictions upon their trade.

ME. LYTTELTON

I am aware of the decision referred to, and am in communication with Lord Milner upon the subject.
