HC Deb 22 July 1904 vol 138 c948
SIR THOMAS DEWAR (Tower Hamlets,) St. George's

To ask the Postmaster-General if he will consider the advisability of communicating with the representatives of the Postal Union with a view to secure a reduction in the rate of postage between the United Kingdom and the Continent.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The rates of postage, applicable to correspondence passing between countries of the Postal Union are to be discussed at the next Postal Union Congress, intended to be held in the ensuing spring; and in the meantime I do not think it advisable to make any move in the direction suggested.
