MR. CATHCART WASONI beg to ask the Secretary to the Local Government Board whether any suggestions have been made to him by the authorities in control of the London street traffic to regulate the speed of motor-cars in crowded thoroughfares.
THE SECRETARY TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. GRANT LAWSON, Yorkshire, N.R., Thirsk)An application has been made by the Corporation of the City of London for a regulation restricting the speed of motor-cars within the City to ten miles an hour, and this is now under consideration. No application of the kind has been received as regards the rest of London, nor have suggestions been made to the Department on the subject by the authorities concerned.
