HC Deb 12 August 1904 vol 140 c397
MR. NOLAN (Louth, S.)

To ask the Postmaster-General if he will say when the revision of the Glasgow sorting staff, which was said to be in course of preparation on 6th July, 1903, was received, and on what date the said revision is likely to be given effect to; is he aware that an official who does not hold the certificate granted by the Civil Service Commissioners to sorting clerks is at present employed on a duty pertaining to the class of clerks, and on which there is a certain amount of supervision; whether the delay in granting the revision is the cause of this official being so employed; and, if not, will he give instructions that this official be employed only on duties pertaining to the class to which he belongs.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) I am inquiring into this matter, and will communicate with the hon. Member as soon as I have obtained the necessary information.
