HC Deb 12 August 1904 vol 140 c395
MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that Francis McCann, a tenant on the Ogilby Estate, Dromore, county Tyrone, was evicted from his farm some years ago; that this farm was held after the eviction by a man named Alcorn, who has since purchased the farm under the Land Act of 1903; that Alcorn is willing to surrender the farm on receiving reasonable compensation; and whether he will represent to the Estates Commissioners the advisability of their entering into communication with Alcorn with a view to effecting an arrangement.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The holding in the Question is in the occupation of Samuel Alcorn, to whom it was sold under the 40th Section of the Act of 1896. In reply to the second inquiry, I must refer the hon. Member to the provisions of the Act of 1903.
