HC Deb 12 August 1904 vol 140 cc410-1
MR. NOLAN

To ask the Secretary of State for War if he can state the number of soldiers (including Militia under arms) stationed in Great Britain † See (4) Debates, cxxxviii., 1342 and Ireland respectively, during the last seven years, and the quantity of malt liquor consumed in the canteens during the same period.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Arnold-Forster.) It is not possible to give the hon. Member the comparative figures he requires, as there are no statistics available at the War Office to show the consumption of malt liquor at military canteens.
