HC Deb 02 August 1904 vol 139 c515
MR. BARRAN (Leeds, N.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a vacancy that occurred more than a year ago in the telegraph superintendent's survey branch at Leeds has not yet been filled up, and that the work is being done by junior clerks in expectation of advancement; and, if so, whether he purposes to make an appointment to fill the vacancy.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) In connection with certain changes of administration, the district under the control of the postmaster of Leeds was largely reduced on the 1st February, and in consequence it is not found necessary to fill the vacancy referred to by the hon. Member.
