§ SIR H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMANHas the right hon. Gentleman any statement to make as to the business for the rest of the week?
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURYes, as my hon. friend the Member for the Wellington Division announced on the adjournment of the House last night, to-morrow will be devoted to the Report of the Budget Resolutions. On Thursday Part I. of the Civil Service Estimates will be taken, and on Monday I trust we shall be able to conclude the proceedings upon the present stage of the financial proposals of the Government.
§ MR. BUCHANANIs there to be the usual Resolution about the permanent debt charge?
§ MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAINI think the hon. Gentleman is under a misapprehension. I do not recollect any such Resolution being habitually moved, and it certainly is not necessary this year as I do not propose to make any alteration in the fixed debt charge.
§ MR. LOUGHWhy is the Report of the Income-Tax Resolution being taken before that of the tea and tobacco duties?
§ MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAINIt is done in the supposed interests of the convenience of the House.
§ SIR WILFRID LAWSON (Cornwall, Camborne)May I ask the Prime Minister whether he has yet made arrangements for taking the Second Reading of the Licensing Bill.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI cannot fix a date at present, but I think it will be a very early one.
§ SIR WILFRID LAWSONI hope the right hon. Gentleman will kindly give us ample notice of the date?
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI hereby give notice that I will bring it on at the earliest date I can contrive.
§ SIR WILFRID LAWSONThat is very vague.
