HC Deb 25 April 1904 vol 133 c1036
SIR JOHN LENG (Dundee)

To ask the Secretary of State for India if he can inform the House what objections have been made by the Rao of Cutch to the construction through his State of the proposed Bombay-Scinde Connection Railway; and whether those objections are regarded by the Government of India as valid to obstruct the completion of a line which has been pronounced by them advisable on Imperial grounds.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick) I have not received any information from the Government of India regarding the objections alleged to have been raised by the Rao of Cutch to the construction through his State of the proposed Bombay-Scinde connection, but I have no reason to doubt that this railway, of which the utility is acknowledged, will eventually be completed when funds are available.
