To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can say from which councils he has received by-laws under the Employment of Children Act, and which of these have received his approval.

(Answered by Mr Secretary Akers-Douglas.) By-laws have been submitted in draft by the London County Council, the city of London, and the authorities of about twenty-four other places, and are now under consideration. In one instance, Warrington, the terms of the by-laws have been provisionally settled, and are now awaiting formal adoption and confirmation under the procedure prescribed in Section 4 of the Act.
