THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYSDHAM,) DoverThe College statutes require the president, on occasions of absence, to appoint a deputy from among the professors. The president of Belfast College was not absent last year. In the cases of Cork and Galway the statutory requirement has been strictly observed when the occasion arose, but no record has been kept of the appointment of deputies. No salary is attached to the position of deputy.
