HC Deb 14 April 1904 vol 133 cc210-1
MR. BLACK (Banffshire)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government has resolved to abandon its scheme of Army reform in order to adopt en bloc that pat forward by the War Office Reconslitution Committee.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

The hon. Gentleman appears to think that Army reform and War Office reform are incompatible alternatives. That is not the view of His Majesty's Government. We hope to deal with both.

MR. BLACK

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the Army Corps scheme has been abandoned by the Government?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I think the hon. Gentleman had better wait until he hears the general scheme of Army reform which we hope to be able to lay before the House.
