HC Deb 25 May 1903 vol 122 c1624
MR. LOUIS SINCLAIR (Essex' Romford)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been called to the fact that the postage of newspapers from Barberton and other towns in the Transvaal to England is at the rate of 1d. per two ounces, whereas the charge from England to the Transvaal is ½d per two ounces; and, if so, whether he will take steps to assimilate these rates.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) Yes, Sir, I am aware of the facts stated in the Question; but I have no control over the rates charged in the Transvaal. Any representations which the hon. Member may wish to make on the subject should be addressed to the Transvaal Government.
