HC Deb 20 May 1903 vol 122 c1218
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY (Limerick, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he will say whether he has any official reports from inspectors of national schools in Ireland showing how far education in general, and the new scheme in particular, has been assisted in these schools by their managers, and especially by their clerical managers; and, if so, would he state the general tenour of these reports and lay them upon the Table.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYNDHAM,) Dover

The general tenour of these detailed reports is given in the reports of the chief inspectors, which are laid on the Table of the House each year. It has been arranged, however, that in future the remarks of the district inspectors on this particular subject will be laid in extenso

MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

Do these Reports differ from the representations given of them by Dr. Starkie?

Mr. WYNDHAM

I am not prepared to enter into a discussion on that point.
