HC Deb 12 May 1903 vol 122 c417
COLONEL LEGGE (St. George's, Hanover Square)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether, seeing that under the Indian regulations officers of the Indian establishment who are invalided home sick or wounded, as a result of active service, have to bear the expenses of the journey out of their private purse, he can see his way to relaxing this rule in the case of officers serving with the Somaliland Field Force.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) Ihese officers are employed on Imperial service and would, if invalided, be treated under Imperial service rules and get free passage if sent home on medical board leave.
