§ MR. CORRIE GRANT (Warwickshire, Rugby)To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that clerks of works on the Royal Engineer civil staff have been ordered to be vaccinated on penalty of dismissal; and, if so, will he state whether this order has been issued with his sanction.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) Nothing is known of any such specific cases. The General Officer Commanding Home District, issued orders about a year ago during the smallpox epidemic that such clerks were not to be taken on if they refused vaccination.
