HC Deb 25 March 1903 vol 120 cc160-1
MR. LOCKIE (Devonport)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he can arrange that a separation allowance, similar to that made to the Royal Marines detached from headquarters for duty, shall be paid directly to the wives of Royal Marines when serving afloat.

(Answered by Mr. Arnold-Forster.) As I informed the House on the 16th March,† the question will shortly arise of giving further advantages, either in respect of pay or allowances, to the Royal Marines, as the equivalent of the additional pay proposed for the Army, beyond the 2d. a day increase already granted; and all such subsidiary allowances as that referred to in the Question will then naturally receive consideration.
