REGINALD LUCAS (Portsmouth)To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty what will be the scale of pay for warrant officers promoted to be lieutenants under the new scheme; whether they will receive pensions on a fixed scale, and, if not, what will be the basis for regulating them, and whether he can say when the first list of these promotions will be announced.
(Answered by Mr. Arnold-Forster.) An announcement will be made shortly as to the rates of pay and pension of these officers. The first promotions will be made at the beginning of the next financial year.
