HC Deb 24 March 1903 vol 120 c58
MR. MARSHALL HALL (Lancashire, Southport)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the advisability of giving to Army Reservists and discharged soldiers who have fought in the late South African War some pecuniary assistance to enable such of them as may so desire to emigrate to Canada, or some other colony willing to receive them.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) I fear that this object, however desirable in itself, is not one to which Army Funds could properly be devoted.
