§ MR. O'DOWD (Sligo, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in view of the fact that the lands purchased by Mr. Stuart Gillmor, of Dromahair, county Leitrim, and for the purchase of which the Land Commission advanced £480 under terms of an agreement dated 24th July, 1902, were not demesne lands, and that the person who was in possession of a portion of these lands at the time this agreement was perfected was liable for the rates due upon it, an inquiry will he instituted into the circumstances surrounding this sale.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThe purchase agreement made with Mr. Gillmor shows that he was in occupation of the holding since 1880. No sub-tenancy appears to have existed in the case, and no inquiry, such as suggested, is considered necessary.
§ MR. O'DOWDWill the right hon. Gentleman cause further inquiries to be made?
§ ME. WYNDHAMNo: I cannot inquire into the action of the Land Commission.
