HC Deb 10 March 1903 vol 119 c258
MR. CLAUDE HAY (Shoreditch, Hoxton)

To ask the Postmaster General, whether, in view of the removal of the Post Office Savings Bank to West Kensington, the appointment of a telegraph staff, with consequent provision for supervision, has been considered; and whether the rate of promotion among the counter clerks and telegraphists of the London districts will be taken into consideration in making the superior appointments.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) The Post Office Savings Bank will be in communication with the Central Telegraph Office by telephone, and will require no special telegraph staff.
