HC Deb 05 March 1903 vol 118 c1545
MR. GIBSON BOWLES (Lynn Regis)

To ask the President of the Local Government Board, can he give a statement showing the sums expended in legal expenses and disbursements by the Godstone Rural District Council in each of the last five years, with the name and nature of the matter in respect of which the expenses have been incurred; and the result of the proceedings where the matter has been the subject of litigation, arbitration, or proceedings before any Committee of either House of Parliament.

(Answered by Mr. Waller Long.) I am not in possession of information which would enable me to give the particulars desired. I may, however, point out that under Section 58 (5) of the Local Government Act, 1894, it is open to any parochial elector of a parish in a rural district to inspect and take extracts from the books and accounts of the Rural District Council.
