HC Deb 04 March 1903 vol 118 cc1346-7
MR. NANNETTI (Dublin, College Green)

To ask the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, in view of the fact that the labourers employed by the Dublin Ordnance Store Department receive 17s. per week, while the rate of † See (4) Debates cxv., 505. pay for labourers in outside private firms is £11s. per week, he will consider the advisability of making the wages of labourers in the Ordnance Store similar to those paid at Haulbowline and other Government yards.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The wages paid by the War Department at Haulbowline and other Naval stations are equivalent to those paid by the Admiralty. As regards the Army Ordnance Department in Dublin, I have nothing to add to the reply given to a question put by the hon. Member on this subject on the 10th December last.†
