HC Deb 30 June 1903 vol 124 c926
MR. EDWARD MITCHELL (Fermanagh, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, in view of the representations made to him in reference to the preservation of fish in the River Erne, county Fermanagh, he will cause the Special Advisory Committee on Fisheries to the Board of Agriculture to take steps to protect and develop the fishing industry in said river.

MR. WYNDHAM

Any written representations made to me in the matter would be referred to the Department of Agriculture. But I would point out that the duty of protecting the fisheries in the River Erne devolves upon the local Board of Conservators and not on the Department.
