HC Deb 23 July 1903 vol 126 c56
MR. WEIR

To ask the Secretary of State for India if he will state when the railway from Kalka to Simla, about forty miles in length, which was to have been opened last March, and which has been in course of construction for two and a-half years, will be completed; and can he state the cause of the delay.

(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) The Kalka-Simla Railway is expected to be opened in October. The construction has been delayed by the difficult nature of the country traversed.
