§ COLONEL LEGGEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether he has yet received any communication from the Indian Government with regard to the abolition of the lance in the Indian cavalry.
§ LORD GEORGE HAMILTONThe Government of India have recently sanctioned the disuse of the lance by the cavalry of the Queen's Own Corps of Guides, but I have no information indicating that it is proposed to abolish the lance in other regiments of Indian cavalry.
