HOULT (Cheshire, Wirrall)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that for some time past German trade interests in Roumania have been represented by a trade expert; and whether, in view of the fact that the Roumanian Government are at present considering their tariff, and that other countries are represented by trade experts, he will at 1447 once appoint a trade expert to safeguard the interests of British trade.
§ LORD CRANBORNEThe German official, to whom no doubt my hon. friend refers, is described as an agricultural expert. The Secretary of State will consider in consultation with the Board of Trade whether any steps should be taken in the direction suggested in the Question.
