HC Deb 21 July 1903 vol 125 c1302
MR. LAMBERT (Devonshire, South Molton)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has any official statistics showing the approximate extra amount paid to the farmer on account of the corn duty and the equivalent amount paid by him in respect of corn and feeding-stuffs for consumption.

(Answered, by Mr. Ritchie.) As regards the amount of the corn duty which fell on feeding-stuffs, the best estimate that can be made is that which was given to a deputation by my right hon. friend the First Lord of the Treasury on the 15th May—viz., somewhat over £500,000. As regards the first point in the Question, I have no information.
