I beg to ask the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether it will be convenient to state now the amount of the expenditure for which provision will be made in the forthcoming Naval Works Bill.

THE CIVIL LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. PRETYMAN,) Suffolk, Woodbridge

The total sum to be provided for expenditure during the financial years 1903–04 and 1904–05 is £8,570,877. Of this sum £574,877 is available, being unspent balance on the sum provided by previous Acts, leaving a sum of £7,996,000 to be voted in the Bill of this year.
