HC Deb 30 April 1903 vol 121 c944
SIR THOMAS DEWAR (Tower Hamlets, St. George's)

To ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will consider the advisability of increasing the number of salaried consular officers representing the United Kingdom, so that the commercial community in this country may have at their command such information as will render them better able to compete with other nations.

(Answered by Lord Cranborne.) The advisability of increasing the number of salaried consular officers will receive careful consideration.
