HC Deb 30 April 1903 vol 121 cc950-1
MR. WHITLEY (Halifax)

To ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will take steps to have a record kept of the sickness and mortality which takes place amongst the Central African natives during their indenture in the Transvaal mines.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. J. CHAMBERLAIN, Birmingham, W.)

I will ask Lord Milner to have such a record kept, so far as it may be possible to do so. I doubt if it will be possible in the form suggested in the hon. Member's Question.
