HC Deb 29 April 1903 vol 121 c793
MR. HERBERT SAMUEL (Yorkshire, N. R., Cleveland)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether in the reference to a Select Committee appointed to consider questions connected with the Income Tax he will include an examination into the practicability of a graduation of the tax above the £700 limit.

THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. ARTHUR ELLIOT, Durham)

The terms of reference are not yet settled. They will, of course, be as wide as possible.
