HC Deb 29 April 1903 vol 121 cc796-7
MR. GIBSON BOWLES

; I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury is there any, and if so what, foundation for the statements recently and generally circulated that renewed proposals have been made by Foreign Governments or financiers with a view to obtain the participation of His Majesty's Government in the Baghdad railway scheme; and have His Majesty's Government any intention of reconsidering their decision as to this railway or of entering into new communications with regard thereto. †See (4) Debates, cxix., 105.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

This matter stands exactly where it was when I replied to my hon. friend on Thursday last.†
