HC Deb 27 April 1903 vol 121 cc457-8
GENERAL LAURIE (Pembroke and Haverfordwest)

; I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the 30th Pembroke Yeomanry have not yet received the South African War medal; and whether, in view of the fact that many of the Yeomanry have already received their medals, he will arrange that there shall be no further delay in the issue of the medals to the Pembroke men.

LORD STANLEY

The medal roll now forwarded by this company, after two applications from the War Office, is so incomplete that fresh rolls will have to be prepared. It must be remembered that the checking of the rolls and the subsequent engraving of the individual medals require considerable time, and further, that the rolls must be taken in their proper turn. All possible expedition is being used in the issue of medals.
