HC Deb 06 April 1903 vol 120 c1104
MR. J. H. LEWIS (Flint Boroughs)

To ask the Secretary to the Board of Education if he will state by what name the Board propose in future to call the schools known before the passing of the Education Act, 1902, as voluntary schools.

(Answered by Sir William Anson.) The Board propose to continue the name "voluntary schools" to describe schools the fabric of which is provided and maintained by voluntary effort.
