HC Deb 06 April 1903 vol 120 cc1118-9
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Board of Education, having regard to the fact that the Admiralty estimate that 10 per cent. of the recruits for the Navy are rejected on account of bad teeth, will he consider the expediency of arranging for dentists to visit State-aided schools so that the children of ten years and upwards may have facilities for obtaining advice as to the best means to be taken to preserve their teeth.

THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY TO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION (Sir WILLIAM ANSON, Oxford University)

The Board will consider the propriety of communicating with local authorities on this subject, as it would appear to be one with which local authorities might most properly deal.
