HC Deb 01 April 1903 vol 120 cc781-2
MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he can state when the proposed revision of plans and specifications for new schools under the Board of National Education is likely to be completed; and, in view of the fact that the building season has now commenced, whether steps will be taken to expedite the revision.

(Answered by Me. Wyndham.) At the request of my right hon. friend I will reply to this Question. The Committee appointed to consider the whole subject has recently presented its Report. Pending a final decision on the Report, the Commissioners will allow the building of schools in urgent cases to proceed under the old regulations and on the old plans, if the managers prefer this course to waiting for the revised rules and plans.
