HC Deb 01 April 1903 vol 120 c782
Sin SEYMOUR KING (Hull, Central)

To ask the Secretary of State for India whether the Government are now prepared to consider favourably the claim of the troops employed in the Mekran and Perso-Beluchistan operations of 1901–2, extending over five months from the capture of Fort Nadiz, to the Frontier medal.

(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) I fully recognise the good work done by the troops and the excellent spirit shown by them through out the operations, but I regret that I am unable to regard the military aspect of the operations as of sufficient importance to justify the grant of a medal.
