To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will endeavour to provide for the Ladysmith gun carriages from H.M.S. "Terrible" being placed in some public museum if they are net otherwise disposed of.

(Answered by Mr. Arnold-Foster The gun-mountings which were in use on † See (4) Debates, cxi., 1144; cxii 272. shore in South Africa were not returned to H.M.S. "Terrible," but were appropriated for military service, and it is understood they are still in South Africa. I shall be happy, however, to make further inquiries as to their present whereabouts.
