To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he will follow the course adopted by (President Rooseveldt respecting the coal strike in America in the case of the Penrhyn quarry dispute.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) The circumstances in the case of the Penrhyn quarry dispute are by no means similar to those in America, and I see no prospect that any official intervention would tend to promote a settlement.
